So, since the 4th landed on Sunday, I enjoyed a eve-of-the-fourth eating dinner at the base of the Washington Monument on a date with a few friends. Then on Sunday, my ward finished church at 6pm, so my friends, Tali and Annie, whose ward finished earlier saved me a seat on the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial, and we enjoyed the firework show from across the Reflecting Pool. It was the most impressive firework display I've ever observed. Happy 234th Birthday USA!

a DC Independence Day
Before I could leave this land that I made home, I had to enjoy a July 4th in DC. Last July I was in Ghana, Africa, and they did not have fireworks. As a matter of fact, I forgot that it was USA's Independence Day until I was headed to bed and looked at my watch!
